How far did she go?
Trinity was falling for about 1 minute 20 seconds and 66 milliseconds. She was timed from when she jumped out the window and during the other scenes until she was caught by neo. Use the formula: 5t squared. 120.66 squared is 14558.8356. Multiplied by 5 is equal to 72794.178 meters. She was timed a second time. This time we only timed during the scenes with her. She was timed for about 32 seconds and 22 milliseconds. You square that and get 1038.1284.You multiply by 5 to get 5190.642 meters.
What is the force?
She is about 120 pounds so to find her mass we need to convert. 1 lb = .45 kg(120 * .45 = 54 kilograms) Her initial acceleration is 10 m/s. Use the formula: force = mass * acceleration or F = ma.Force = (54 kg) * (10m/s) The force is 540 kg over m/s or 540 N.
THE MATRIX VS THE LAWS OF PHYSICS
How is this possible you ask falling for 1min 20sec 66millsecs of a building? This is impossible because the tallest building is under construction and it does not reach to 72794.178 m!!!! So in other words trinity would've been dead along time ago due to hitting the ground. That would be the result in the real world but in the movie they would have probably have done some matrix before hitting the ground.
What did we learn?
We had some difficulties when doing this project. We had lot's of problems timing the scene because the scene was real tricky. Everything got real easy when we started to put physics into this scene. We also learned so many things that defies the laws of physics. For example, the movie matrix reloaded. We learned from the movie that if you defy the laws of physics that you'll probably get injured or worse die.
